I have torn out the ceiling in two rooms in my apartment with the purpose of increasing the ceiling height. Previously, these two rooms and a small hallway outside, which connects them, were one room and now that I have taken down the ceiling, there is no wall material between the rooms. I'm attaching a picture so it may be understandable.
The old ceiling in the two rooms is in good condition and should be possible to restore nicely.
However, in addition to these rooms, I also want to tear down the ceiling in the small corridor outside, but the damage to the wall and ceiling above the lowered ceiling is substantial and I'm unsure how to proceed with repairing these.
When looking from the other rooms into the old ceiling, you can see exposed boards with mesh and completely removed plaster and also some substantial craters in the plaster with reeds as reinforcement. Where there is plaster left, I think one can prime and fill in with plaster, but I'm not sure how to resolve it around the corner with boards. Below the lowered ceiling, there are plasterboards.
How would you proceed? Clean up, work with beams to make it even, and install plasterboards? Any other ideas?
