Hello!
It's been a while since I was involved in house renovation, I realize now...
I've just bought a house and tore down the wallpaper in the rooms I intend to redo. I then discovered that there were a lot of holes in the walls, both with and without plugs. I took down 3 layers of wallpaper and am down to the drywall. The tricky part is that there's a lot of paper left, and I feel like I don't want to start sanding down the entire wall and then putty it up (like I did last time, 20 years ago...)
The idea came to cover the walls instead, but does it work well to put renovation wallpaper directly on the drywall? We're going to put up fabric and paint afterwards, plus there's a room that will be divided with a wall that I will put drywall and OSB on. Should I perhaps put OSB on all the walls instead? Expensive, but in the long run, it might be better? Or maybe Masonite? It builds less and is cheaper, but does it hold up?
