I am planning an interior renovation of my house from '61. In some of the rooms, I am thinking of installing renovation plasterboard on the existing wall covering. I can handle the trim around windows and doors, but what should I do by the radiators? I have water-based heating. Is it possible to "bend out" the radiators by the 6 millimeters that the plasterboard adds? And if so, can they stay in place without disconnecting the water while I screw in the plasterboard? How have the rest of you managed it?

There shouldn't be any problem with 6mm extra.

Regarding the radiator, you can probably loosen it a bit and swing it out from the wall while you work. But you need to support it so that it doesn't hang on the pipes.

You will then have to slightly loosen the pipe connections so you can swing it out, and during this time you should turn off the circulation pump.
