Our south-facing facade needs renovation; the weatherboards and facade boards look really bad in some places. Even the wooden frames on the upstairs windows are starting to deteriorate at the bottom.
I've calculated that we will need new wind boards and about 45 primed facade boards of varying lengths (320-390 cm), 60 primed cover boards (between 320 and 420 cm long), and an 8-meter-long division plate running between the wooden gable and the brick on the ground floor. For this, I'll need to bring in a metalworker to measure everything and construct the plate for me. The division plate takes a step down from the sunroom over a beam that the awning is mounted on. That beam was probably installed after the division plate, as it has taken a lot of damage since the plate does not extend to protect it. So likely, a 3.9-meter-long wooden beam will also be needed to support the awning.
On top of that, new cap flashings and window sills will be needed, which the metalworker also needs to measure and fabricate.
The question is what the above would cost in materials (and labor costs for the metalworker) in rough terms? I'm really just looking for a rough estimate.
We will have scaffolding up when the metalworker arrives. I assume that the battens, etc., behind the facade boards won't need to be addressed; otherwise, it's probably not many hundreds of kronor.
The last question is whether one should invest in new pivot windows while we're at it - I've looked and determined that two new windows should come in at about 3700 SEK each, whether you go for wood or aluminum.
