Hello. I have just started tackling my first renovation.
The apartment is from '61 and unfortunately much is original. Worn and dull, that is.
As it stands now, there's a vinyl floor, ugly moldings, and a terrible door frame leading into the living room. I really want to get rid of all of this.

To begin with, we are going to repaint. The wallpaper is gone so wall filling will begin. Before that, I want to remove the moldings which I plan to replace anyway. Since I don't know if the moldings will be lower or higher yet, I want to have the entire walls painted nicely.
I actually would like to lay new flooring too and am strongly considering laminate because of its price and durability. I calculated that we could get by with just over 1000 SEK. I was thinking of laying laminate on top of the vinyl floor (smarter to do it properly while I'm at it?) and inevitably there will be a level difference which means we will have to install new thresholds where the hall borders the kitchen, living room, and bathroom (which will probably look ugly and stupid?).

From the hall, I have a door frame into the living room that I want to get rid of. Looks like the picture. I realize it is attached with screws in the frame, but is there much I should consider before I start?
It also appears that the threshold has been wedged in place and I need to remove it to lay the cable so I don't break my leg every time I walk there.

Thanks in advance.

Ok... so time for an update.
I have been working when I've had time and been able to. We have crazy times when you can work here.
Anyway, all the crap is pretty much gone. It is plastered and painted. pretty much done so now only the floor is missing in principle and there I don't know exactly how to proceed.

Problem no.1
As can be seen from the first picture, the old linoleum tiles are wedged under the door frame of the front door. How should I proceed here? Should the floor be laid edge to edge here against the threshold so I should use a chisel and knock away what protrudes from the floor tiles?
Can't remove the threshold to the front door.

Problem no.2
Where the hall borders the kitchen and bathroom the same thing happens, but they weren't wedged there, I was able to pull out the tiles, but I assume I should remove the thresholds so I can lay the new floor and then if possible buy new thresholds depending on the height difference that occurs.
