Hello everyone. Homeowner for a year and have received a lot of help from Byggahus. Now I can't find a clear answer to a question that's come up, so I have to ask myself.
I've made some minor repairs to the exterior plaster on a concrete basement. Now I've discovered a hole in the concrete on the outside of the basement stairs. Likely water has run along the embedded railing post and over the years has found its way out. There are no damages on the inside of the concrete, but efflorescence. Luckily, nothing inside the actual basement.
My idea is to chisel down to the cavity, also expose the railing post, and then pour concrete again.
So to the question; I have quite a bit of plaster mortar left. Can I use this? It would actually be a thick layer, but does it really matter that much? If I understand correctly, plaster mortar is more durable and should therefore be suitable, right? Should one cast in layers (feels like it might look ugly)?
Or should I simply buy a bag of concrete mix?
Thanks for all the answers!
