In an older house (built around 1900 in its current location) with a ceiling of horizontal planks throughout the house, will it be problematic for the rafters to remove this? I'm mainly thinking about the risk of them being extra burdened.
Previously, the attic was unfinished, and now it is finished, so already there the beams should have been extra burdened considering how it was originally intended.
The short question: Will the rafters give way if you remove a plank ceiling to expose the roof beams?
