Remove stud between rafters?

Hi, I'm facing a problem where I need to remove a beam that is placed between the outermost rafters.
Is this something that was just done to facilitate when the house was being erected, do you think?
Or do they have a load-bearing function?
In the outer sections, there is an extra beam at the ridge and then two more further down in the sections. The same in all four outer sections.
What makes me a bit puzzled is that they are notched into the outermost rafter.
The house was built in 1948 with standing planks if that helps.

Do you have longitudinal paneling in the eaves of the gable?
There might be a joist nailed to truss number 2 from the outside and recessed into the outermost truss (the outer wall).
In this way, you get a joist that protrudes and can support the boards of the eaves.
