Hello,

I have renovation steps on the staircase. I want to remove these, install risers, and then paint the staircase. What is the easiest way to remove these steps? I assume they are glued and they might be very difficult to remove.

  • Wooden stairs with renovation treads before removal; steps lack risers, with some visible wear and adhesive residue.
Tiger saw.

If the renovation kit is mounted correctly, it is secure. It's not something you remove. And also a measure that has cost around 20,000kr... Why dismantle? They don't appear damaged. If you want to paint them, that's up to you. But if you want to replace the steps completely, hire a company that can replace the entire staircase for you because that's where it will end up eventually.

But yes, if the renovation set is mounted correctly, it's fixed in place. Not something you can disassemble. And also a measure that cost about 20000 SEK... Why disassemble? But if you want to completely replace the risers, have a company come out to replace the entire staircase for you because that's where it will end up ultimately.
Thanks! Just as I suspected then. I think old painted stairs are nicer. Renovation steps look strange. I guess I'll cover the stairs as they are and live with it then.
