Remove a side window

Hello, how do you go about closing up a side window? I mean, removing it completely. What should be between the outer panel and the inner panel? I don't know anything about this stuff.

Need to start by putting up studs so the door frame has something to attach to and to make the wall behind a bit more stable. Depending on where you want it on the inside and also how it looks under the existing exterior paneling, a general description would be as follows, from inside to outside:
Inner panel
OSB board
Vapor barrier
Insulation and studs
Wind paper
Battens
Exterior panel
