Reinforce roof with steel beam
Hello, the beam dimension has been calculated. Be careful with the beam supports so they can withstand the loads from the beam!
Yes, you can, but it is more common and cheaper to use steel pipes, square pipes like VKR or KKR.
Hello!
Neighbour, you seem to know a bit. What thickness and dimension of steel pipes or square tubes would you use for the pillars? Is it suitable to weld the pillar onto a plate, e.g., 50x50 10mm steel, which is then bolted into the concrete? Do you weld the connection between the pillar and the beam?
Best regards, Martin

What will the column length be?
The columns, (in steel), should at least be square tubes 60x60x4 or 70x70x3 or round Ø76.1x4.
Welding the beam and column together is good.
The plate in the column base should probably be at least 140x100x10, (hard to say without knowing what the concrete can withstand, the screws also need to fit outside the column).
