Even if the beam continues further towards another wall, I can understand the purpose of shortening its span with an extra support in the wooden wall. However, this support cannot look like it does in the picture. The horizontal short brace should not be there for several reasons. It is too short and only secured with a few screws/nails. Additionally, the support pressure from the steel beam is likely too high when it hits the end of the brace. A post where the steel beam rests on the end grain withstands much more. Ideally, the post does not need to be thicker than the wooden wall, but this must be verified with a calculation. Then, the steel beam cannot be exposed; it must be fireproofed in a suitable way. The simplest method is with a gypsum-clad enclosure box.
