I am planning to put up an interior wall to divide a larger room into two. There is oak parquet on the floor. Can I build the wall on the parquet, or does it need to be divided/removed?

Do you want to be able to restore the room later? Otherwise, it might be beneficial to remove the parquet. It would be easier if you ever want to change the flooring.

That's something to consider, thanks for that. But I find it difficult to predict whether changing the flooring or tearing down the wall would happen first.

Is there any disadvantage in the construction, like the wall locking the floating floor so it starts creaking (though it's still loose against the other walls, only attached in the middle under the new wall)? There is "impact sound insulation" under the parquet according to the plans (house from 2013). Any risk that the weight of the wall compresses it, and what could that lead to?

I should probably add that "large" is relative. The room to be divided is just over 25 sqm, with the staircase coming up in one corner. The room I will divide off will be just under 10 sqm.

There's no problem with the impact sound insulation being compressed. The problem that can arise is the locking of the floor. It goes against the laying instructions for the floor.

I did exactly that a year ago with the help of a friend who was convincing in saying "it's fine, it will be okay". I haven't seen any signs of problems yet (but 1 year isn't that long either..)
