We have an old doorway from when the house was built (~1942) where the front door used to be. It's on the old gable of the house so it's not load-bearing. There is brick on one side and siporex on the other. Since the house is extended, I want to raise the doorway by about 300mm to use it as a passage. Is it sufficient to insert two angle irons on each side, like 50x50x5?? Today there are only three reinforcing bars of 8mm 😳
