Problem: All the walls on 2 floors in an extension are consistently radon-contaminated and have high gamma radiation values, except the floors which were measured yesterday as the new basis for decision. Radiation decreases with distance, the gas spreads. I have seen several people replacing such walls, radically and effectively if possible, most challenging with tiled wet rooms?
We plan to replace in the rooms that are used the most there = 2 bedrooms. The rest will remain as is for now. If you spend half an hour a day in the bathroom and die, it's bad luck. And we don't smoke.
Radon levels usually halve if it rises to the next floor. They have torn down a radon-free outer wall and built a radon inner wall, or added it when the rest was finished, that's what can happen when people have plenty of money, it is now a partition wall between 2 bedrooms and might be load-bearing?
If you replace a number of walls and leave the rest, the more difficult question is if gas leaks through the new walls, how much and if it should be sealed?
