Hello!

I was thinking of getting an electric winch to pull up a boat (weighing 1.5 tons) on a rail I laid down to the water. The problem is that I'm not quite sure how to secure the winch to the ground. The winch will need to be about 15 cm above the ground (which is rock) and there will be high lateral load on the base/post shoe. I thought I could drill a couple of holes into the rock, insert rebar, and then place two post shoes in the middle (where the winch will attach), and then cast a concrete base around everything. Do you, with more experience, think this will hold, or are there smarter ways to do this?

Best regards,

Henning
