I have a question that's been bothering me for a while, and I've heard/seen somewhere that it's recommended to turn the studs in the "right" direction, i.e., the core of the stud facing a certain way, as you do with the panels on the façade.

The standing ones should all be facing the same direction, that's all I remember.
But what about the sill and top plate?

Has anyone considered this question, or am I getting caught up in minor details?

Yes. From a strength perspective, the different sides of joists are not distinguished. The question is most significant when assessing how panel or floorboards will twist as they dry.

Replying to myself since I found the video that was puzzling me:

What they are talking about is around 8:50 and wasn't about which direction the core wood is laid, but rather about placing all standing studs so the natural curvature is on the same side to achieve a good result when placing the panels.

It can never be wrong to do it like in the video, but it assumes that all studs are cut in the same way. Whether this is common in reality is more than I know.
