I am about to set up a new wall (metal studs + OSB + drywall) to divide a larger room. The new wall stands between two existing walls where the plasterer likely had a bad day, as they are both skewed and uneven. When I place a straight edge against the existing wall, there is about a 2 cm difference between the highest and lowest points.
What strategy should be used when installing the new wall? Should I cut the OSB + drywall to fit as closely as possible to minimize the gap between the new and old wall?
2 cm - yes, what do you need a plumb line for? An alternative to jigsawing is a soft trim. I had a bad day with the trowel in the stable's washroom, so I bought some foam strips and glued them there. Neat? Hardly, but functional.
