Putting up a mirror on a lightweight concrete/aerated concrete wall
Hello!
I was planning to hang up a larger mirror on the wall. But the wall is made of lightweight concrete and is about 8 cm thick.
I'm unsure how heavy the mirror is but estimate 8-13kg, it will be hung with a wire on the back.
My question is if you think the wall can handle that weight with a simple screw + plug?
Appreciate an answer, thanks!

Oh yes indeed! With the right screw/plug/hook you can easily fix it. If you want to increase the margin even more, place two hooks 10 cm apart next to each other and wrap the line around both. Voila, you've halved the load on each hook.
It's not so much the load that is the problem, but ensuring the screw stays in place and doesn't fall out. Depending on the type of lättbetong, you might need different things. A regular universal plug often works (but make sure to drill as small a hole as you can).
In my lättbetong walls, which pulverize just by looking at them, I exclusively use this type of plug. https://www.fast-fastening.com/fast/IboxServlet?p=IXK003&LVL3=324311 With these, you drill a much smaller hole (maybe 2-3 mm for a 6 mm plug) and then hammer it in with a hammer.

It might be difficult to fit a larger mirror on a wall that is only 8 cm wide.M MeraBygg said:Hello!

Possible that you might need to bevel the edges slightly so it fits.
