Jafo floor drain. I have self-leveled and applied a waterproofing layer against the plastic grid that was installed. Now, when I try to screw in the clamping ring, it doesn't reach down to the floor drain. Have I done something wrong and how should I solve this? Grateful for advice.

Is the waterproofing layer cut by hand or with a template?

With a template.

It is about 17mm between the compression ring when I press maximally. 30mm from the floor drain to the sealing layer.

Does the compression ring catch on anything or is it difficult to lower it?
What model is the well?

Very difficult to push it down. I'm not on site anymore, so I don't know the model. It came with a white grate, and I filled the floor level up to that. I'm also now reading more on the installation instructions, and it looks like I should have removed down to the hard plastic lid underneath and applied the waterproofing at that level. I haven't used JAFO before. Purus hasn't been as troublesome as this. Do I need to tear off the waterproofing and grind down to the correct level (about 17mm) and redo the waterproofing? It doesn't feel great.
