Hello, we are going to build a patio that will be about 80 cm above the ground, and we don't want a wooden surface; instead, we want the floor to be concrete. Does anyone have tips or comments on this? We will build the foundation in wood like a regular veranda/deck, but then, as mentioned, we want to pour the floor in concrete.

Is it completely "off the charts" to do so?

It works, but why involve wood in the process? Buy L-supports and fill up with gravel and insulation before you cast your slab.

Now you mention something that is completely new to me.. don't know what this is but I will check it out immediately! :)

I built a wall with skalblock that I then filled inside before I cast the patio....

Using L-supports as a wall can definitely work. What insulation are you referring to? How and where should it be placed? And then should I just fill up with gravel? Sounds "simple" actually :)

It will require some heavy artillery given the weights involved, but you can probably rent that. Do you need to prepare the ground in any way for this? Again, considering the weight... the house has a basement and thus drainage...
