Hello!
I have had craftsmen install new electricity and cold water (see the picture - yellow pipes) and heating pipes (which I might use in the future). I plan to pour the floor myself.

How do I make it right around the pipes so the concrete doesn't run down and out?

  • Yellow pipes for new electrical and cold water lines in a partially cement-filled floor in a construction area, with insulation around pipes.
It should be backfilled outside, right?
Do that first, and it will be easier to cast later.

Yes, that's correct. So gravel and stone etc. from outside and underneath. Should I kind of place gravel on top so it becomes somewhat dense?

Start by securing the pipes so that they come up exactly as you want them. If you want to be precise, the water pipe should come up at least 60 mm from the wall (see https://sakervatten.se/branschregle...-online-2/4-1-3-tappvattenservis-till-smahus/) and should be entirely in frost-free soil. The culvert there doesn't feel completely optimal as it comes up at an angle from the wall, but it looks a bit short(?)

Then refill with sand/gravel - no large stones around the pipes. Pack thoroughly in small batches with a plank or something since you can't reach to compact there. Otherwise, it will settle over time and become hollow under the floor. Not that it might matter too much. You must, of course, simultaneously back-fill on the outside in the same way.

Then pour again. You can pour directly on the filling; it doesn't need to be completely tight to stop the concrete, nor for the sake of drying when it's such a small area.
