Hey, I'm in the process of replacing the fence and installing some new gates so the kids don't just run into traffic...

At the parking area, there are slate tiles on concrete that connect to an asphalt edge.

The fence runs right at the seam...

Wondering how best to attach post shoes in the asphalt, I'm considering long, sturdy French wood screws...?
Drilling to install metal expanders in the slate tiles that are in concrete, how does that work? Do they crack easily or is it okay to go ahead?

All tips are welcome :-)

asphalt is so soft that it might not work with franskor.

metellexpander could work. drill without impact on the slate tiles.
there is no guarantee what happens when you tighten it.

Know that Sluta Gräv takes about 250:- extra to cut a round hole in existing tiles and about 100:- extra when it comes to asphalt. It actually looks really stylish. I would avoid bolting into asphalt. It becomes very unstable in the summer heat.
