Hello!
I’m going to try to create a space in the garden for a hammock. I have no trees to attach it to, so I want to dig down two posts/lumber that lean slightly away from each other.
I’m thinking of packing macadam and casting them with coarse concrete.
What dimension of post do you recommend, how deep do I need to get them, and is there an optimal angle for them to be as stable as possible?
Byggmax sells lumber that is 120*140 (NTR A). Would that work?
Thankful for your response!
Best regards, Per

Were you eager to cast or was it the hammock you were interested in? Because if it's the latter, there are hammock stands.

Hi!
I'm trying to create a space in the garden for a hammock. I don't have any trees to attach it to, so I want to dig down two posts/timber that lean slightly away from each other.
I plan to pack gravel and encase them with rough concrete.
What dimension of post do you recommend, how deep do I need to set them, and is there an optimal angle to make them as stable as possible?
Byggmax sells timber that is 120*140 (NTR A). Would that work?
Thankful for any advice!

Reviving your old thread. Did you use timber? Did it turn out well? I have the same idea.

Yes, I cast construction timber from Byggmax into the ground. Set them at a slight angle. I attached two carabiners to each post to adjust the angle of the hammock. Turned out well!

What a wonderfully pleasant place you seem to have there! Looks good with the hammock. I think I'll go for the same thing. I'm considering using two 45x145 (or similar) and placing them on either side at the top between the posts.Per Sandwall said:

You can probably hold off on that a bit. My posts hardly move, even with heavier loads.
Evaluate first and see.

Pelle, ser väldigt fint ut! Gammal tråd nu, men undrar två saker:Per Sandwall said:
Hur grovt timmer, 150mm?
