Post base for wooden column

Hello!

Two questions that I hope someone can answer;

1. What type of post base is this? What should I google to find it?

2. Is it OK for the wooden post to be in direct contact with the metal without any moisture protection?



The post supports the entry roof of a house.

The type of shoe I haven't seen before, but maybe it can be found out through the house manufacturer. The fact that the wood sits close to the metal probably doesn't matter much; there's nothing there that binds moisture or absorbs wetness, it's only when the wood is against concrete that it's customary to have roofing felt in between or that the wood is set 1 cm up in the shoe with bolts.

Even end grain against metal is a poor construction. Rainwater running down the post gets underneath and is absorbed by the end grain. If there is no ventilation, the end grain cannot dry after the rain.
