Polyurethane insulation - advantages and disadvantages
Is there anyone in the forum who has experience with insulation using Polyuretanskum. Good or bad?
Depends entirely on what you need it for. If you're going to insulate a jacuzzi, I would say it's extremely good. Whereas sealing a window, there are 100 things that are better.
Advantage. Really good insulation values with very little material
Disadvantages. Incredibly expensive, difficult to apply with precision

Expensive, I don't know, and it completely depends on whether you use open or closed cells. With today's insulation prices, I would say it's cheaper to insulate with foam than if you have a house over 100m2. It takes a day and provides better values, and you can spend the time on other things.

Now the name of this forum is byggahus.se, so you would want help with questions about just that, I would think. So it's not a jacuzzi being discussed here. It would be interesting to hear experiences from people who have used this material as insulation in walls and roofs. The material is widely used in other countries for house construction but has not really gained ground here in Sweden, mainly because many construction companies consider it too expensive. But if you build your house yourself, it might be a good investment in the long run.E Exxi said:Depends entirely on what you are going to use it for. For a small cabin of 20 sqm, I think it could be good. It won't be too expensive either. You'll get excellent insulation. But is there anyone here who has had a bad experience with PUR so far? Maybe not many here have used it? And if not, why not? Uncertainty maybe?
