Plinth deeper than the frame. How to make it look nice?

I thought many people had done what I did over 20 years ago, but when a carpenter was home about a year ago, he was impressed and had never seen that solution before.
So here's my contribution to a neat finish on baseboards.

Do you have a picture of when the door casing is also installed? I guess it doesn't look that nice.

No, I haven't, an option to avoid seeing the cut surface at least.
I contribute with another option as I saw that I did it differently around the kitchen island.

Nice, but can't you do the same thing by mitering the baseboard and trim at 45 degrees if it's the same style?

No. Even if they had exactly the same profile, you would then have to mount the trim backwards.
