Hello! We have just bought a split-level house from 1962! Inspections have not indicated any moisture problems, but there is a slight indication of ground radon.

We plan to have our bedrooms in the basement and want to achieve the highest quality possible, but still do the work ourselves to keep costs down. What do you think about the following solution:

Have the house drained by a company that can also add insulation.
Install some vents
Remove all wooden shelves and other organic material from the walls
Lay Platon mat, with parquet on top, make sure there is a gap under the baseboard between the floor and walls.
Silikatfärg on the walls.

Will this be good?
Very grateful for both tips and info about various regulations!
