Yes, I will. Going to buy a rasp at Biltema today. I will need to splice the walls, so I'll also buy a planer for chamfering. The panels are only 2500, and the wall is 2780 to the ceiling, so I haven't really thought this through, I realize. You learn.
Ohh transverse joints on the wall are a big no-no. Are you planning to paint the walls? Watch out for grazing light from any lighting.

So it's just about doing it right and going and buying 3000skivor?

Yes, we were planning to paint.

Go ahead, it might mean a bit more work with plastering etc., but it's always tough to plaster ceilings regardless... Then you can always think about how to make it even better in the next room.

Are you going to paint or wallpaper? If you're wallpapering, I would place the seam at the top and put a wallpaper border right over the seam.

Otherwise, I would personally switch to 3000 panels.

We were thinking of painting. But can't it be spackled over and look good? Just more spackling and sanding?

Use the records you have. As mentioned, it becomes more important with plastering with cross-joints on the wall. Personally, I would consider using Microlit for painting, both on the wall and ceiling. But that's just me.

Ok thanks. Will check on this next week. I don't have any more ceilings to do for a while luckily... but you don't think I should take everything down and redo it, just leave it as it is and plaster over with paper tape and hope it doesn't crack?

You should always have paper tape in all joints, there are lots of good videos on YouTube on how to do it and tips and tricks. But since you've got a main joint you just need to be extra careful there.

That's fine, as I said, don't redo all the small mistakes. You’ll never finish that way. Spend the time plastering instead and move forward with the renovation. Small room, small things don't show up as much. Worse with larger rooms and surfaces and a lot of sidelight from windows.
