I have old woven wallpaper on all walls. I'm thinking of putting regular drywall on most walls and renovation drywall in some areas.

The inner walls consist of:

drywall 13 mm
rough boards 22 mm
stud 2” (50x50)
rough boards 22 mm
drywall 13 mm

Do I have to screw the next layer of drywall into the studs, or will it work to attach directly to the rough boards without an underlying stud?

If so, do I need to use a so-called T-strip between the drywall sheets?

What would you have done?

It is enough to screw in the råspont, no molding is required.

must continue to ask.....

1) In some places, there is 120 cm between the underlying studs, is a T-strip still not needed between the gypsum boards?

2) If there is an irregular measure between some studs that falls outside the standard 30/60/90/120, how do you make the chamfer where you should spackle between the boards?

3) Should the boards be tight against the ceiling or floor, where is it best to have a gap? I'm thinking it's good to have a gap since the house moves (it's a wooden house)?

1. No t-list.

2. You can cut the board and bevel the edge just a few mm with the utility knife.

3. Gap both at the top and bottom but a maximum of 5 mm.

Thank you so much!

I'm considering running a metal strip behind the panels in the interior door and then just using a soft sealant.

For the outer corner, I'm using one of those aquahuledulelist made of hard cardboard.
