I'm doing some work at home in my 70s house and I'm thinking about which materials to use.
What's the advantage of using Gypsum?
As I see it, it just becomes troublesome with a Gypsum wall among all the Particleboard walls!?

Plaster is dimensionally stable, easy to cut, fire-resistant, cheap, (to some extent) sound-dampening, flat, and easy to putty and sand evenly. The disadvantage is that it is brittle and does not hold well for attaching things. A good wall construction is a layer of OSB on the inside and a layer of plaster on the outside. But naturally, this becomes more expensive and labor-intensive.

Gypsum is, as mentioned, easy to cut, shape, easy to plaster and paint on... also a good option from a fire safety perspective, (says I, who doesn't have a gypsum board in the whole house, just tretex and masonite) =)

A typical thread where not all the facts emerge immediately... if I had been building new or doing a major renovation... then I would have chosen 2 layers of drywall.... With noggings at appropriate heights.... (Planning)... but as you write a little further down... 1 m... I assume 1 sqm... Then chipboard is suitable if you have it in the rest of the property...
