Good day!
I am about to drywall my garage, including the ceiling, and I'm pondering the best approach.
Right now there are trusses with cc1200 and I have two ideas on how to attach the drywall. Is one better than the other or should I use both? Or should I do it in a completely different way?

1) Install battens perpendicular to the trusses with cc30 or 60.

2) Install battens parallel to the trusses on cc60.

Alternative 1 with cc 30.
Use spaced panels 28x70 mm and it will be good.

just like immobil says, you use cc30 instead of 60 because otherwise the drywall can sag downward.

I raised the ceiling towards the outer roof. Admittedly, it's hard to do, but in hindsight, it feels good. But maybe you have already insulated?

Do you mean up into the sloped roof? I haven't insulated, and I've been very much considering that option in order to use the rafters to store things on, but I can't think of a good way to fix the joint between the wall and the ceiling then.

What is the problem with the ceiling-wall joint?

Attached is a picture of the storage area, currently there is an inner ceiling there, which functions as a platform from the garage... /Emil

  • A storage room with unfinished walls and ceiling, containing boxes and tools like shovels and a ladder. Light enters through a small window.
