Hi, I'm going to install plasterboard in the ceiling of an 80s house. I'm not finding any studs with a stud finder, and where there are openings in the ceiling, I can't see any studs either. Since there is insulation in between, it feels like there must be studs, or is this something special?
The ceiling consists of thin masonite boards with that kind of paper in between.

Ceiling cassettes that are securely attached to the rafters/framework, you have an opening there, if you grab the cassette, it is well fastened. Masonite over and under, try to screw in a screw without drywall and feel if the screw is secure, then you can screw a little tighter. For example, 4 rows of screws on one board.
The boring answer is that you either have to ignore the plaster or tear down those sandwich boards. But maybe it's possible to glue the boards in place? It takes a little longer, but you do have a board lift, so you can just press a board now and then...
Can you trust that the masonite is fixed well enough to withstand the weight of the plaster? 🤔
I myself probably wouldn't feel completely secure with it. But it's not worse than tearing down the masonite and putting up battens, right? It doesn't take that long. If so, don't forget that you need battens along the walls and that there should be battens or metal/metal profile behind the short edge joints.
