In our villa built in '65, we have just torn down wet room wallpaper glued directly onto the inside of plastered basement exterior walls. Behind it, the plaster was naturally in very poor condition. Now we want to replaster the walls and paint with silicate paint. From what we understand, the walls are built with blåbetong, which is now exposed facing the room. Is there any specific plaster intended specifically for blåbetong, to possibly prevent - at least to some extent - the release of radon gases into the room? Perhaps there is also another type of paint besides silicate paint that is suitable specifically for a plastered blåbetong wall?
For your information, the basement spaces are not living areas and will not be furnished. First up is the laundry room! The basement walls are mostly below ground level. Approximately half a meter is above ground level...

No, there is a previous measurement (at some point in the 2000s) where the annual average in the house is "only" 190... However, the value in the basement was just over 300... But I don't know what the value would be now after treatment with a possibly "incorrect" plaster... So the question is whether there is any specific plaster specifically adapted to potentially prevent the penetration of radon gases...Michael86 said:
Never heard of any such plaster. However, I am not a bricklayer! If you don't find anything other than regular plaster, it's probably not wrong to increase the ventilation a bit! I believe the limit is at 200.
