Plaster plug for single plaster and light mounts

Can someone recommend which plug I should use for single drywall?

I often mount cable channels and similar items on walls with single drywall.
So, it's not a question of any real loads, so molly plugs and other advanced options are out.

However, it's too weak to just screw right into the drywall, you want the channels to still hold firm.

So, I'm looking for a good and cheap plug to insert. I want a "regular" plug so I can easily choose the screw that fits for the occasion. Those "nylon plugs" are often completely smooth at the beginning (innermost/outmost of the plug), so they don't hold in single drywall.

Grateful for suggestions.

Old reliable polyethylene plugs work just fine in drywall. I mostly use Thorsman's plug because these have a "split" collar instead of a whole ring, which allows them to grip directly into the drywall as soon as you screw in.

I usually have a screwdriver with a 5.5mm drill bit for hex fitting to drill holes in the plaster before plugging, it's faster than switching between bit/drill in the machine

The latter ones are really good. Barely visible when you pull them out, if you regret the installation. Otherwise, a simple red plug (or smaller) is quite alright for cable channels? No weight to speak of.

Thank you Daniel78 for understanding what I'm looking for. The difference between various cheap plastic plugs is that some don't have "twist protection" and thus become quite useless in thin single-layer plasterboards.

I'll see if I can find something similar at one of the usual stores.

I myself skip the drill and just drive the Phillips screwdriver right into the wall. Leaves a nice round hole in double drywall at least.

The downside of that maneuver (I've done it myself for many years) is that the board can crack quite badly on the backside. I tore down a wall where I had mounted some plugs using the screwdriver method and saw how ugly the holes became, since then I use a drill

Thormans-plug is sold everywhere I think, the last time I restocked my plug bag I bought some packages at Maxi.
