Hello, how would you have dealt with my wall? It is a lightweight concrete wall that was originally wallpapered. I've installed drywall on the wooden walls around it and have this wall left. I read here that you can glue drywall to concrete walls, but is there a risk that the panels will detach if the glue to the "wallpaper" releases, as it can when you paint on wallpaper, for example? It's not easy to remove the wallpaper by hand. Or maybe there's a more efficient way to do it? Try to tear everything down and putty it so it's even? What would you do?

And then, as seen in the bottom right, I need to recess an electrical outlet and a conduit there, how do you secure them? Do you use mortar or can you glue with some good adhesive? All help is appreciated, best regards, a happy DIY enthusiast A partially wallpapered lightweight concrete wall with a window and construction tools, including a miter saw; hole in the wall for electrical outlet installation.

Is framing and drywalling an option? Otherwise, renovation wallpaper is a good alternative.

I hadn't thought about that, but maybe it's the fastest and most convenient option to get it right?

Brings along quite a bit to frame up considering both the radiator and window on that wall. I would probably try to plaster/spackle it evenly. You can attach the box with whatever you have on hand, cement or glue works excellently.

Use PL 600 one tube per board and you'll be more than safe.

Just realized you wrote lightweight concrete and given the hole for the box, it looks like it might be some form of blåbetong. You can fasten the boards in that without a problem, just choose slightly longer screws.

Would have tried to even out the worst, maybe rough plastered a little and then put up a renovation wallpaper.

If you're going to put something on the wall, it might possibly be a hardboard (about 3mm, but organic material) or renovation plaster (6-7mm). Definitely wouldn't have framed up the wall, more troublesome than plastering and sanding considering elements and so on.

Exactly, it's blåbetong. But it's plastered with some form of mortar, about 3cm. Are there screws that can go through that without pre-drilling?

I have never used renovation wallpaper, is it just like wallpapering? How does it turn out if you paint on it later? Is there a risk that you see the seams between the strips?

It's like a thick cardboard.

Have not painted on top, just wallpapered. I can imagine you might see the seam between two wallpapers if you look closely.

Depends entirely on what kind of plaster it is. Try with a drywall screw and see if it goes through the plaster fairly easily, otherwise, use PL600.
