Hello, I have a problem at home as things went a bit wrong. I live in an apartment on the first floor out of three! I was supposed to find a stud wall in the closet. Then I encountered a duct that went down. This duct is used as shower ventilation upwards. I need to fix the wall again, how do I proceed? I tried plastering the wall again but haven't succeeded. Any tips, or should I tear down the plaster netting, build with damp-proof drywall and steel studs. Sorry for the spelling. But Help!!!!

They have applied lime plaster on the mesh to build up the plaster. Probably plastered in at least two layers.

Okay, what should I use for plaster?

Lime plaster, it's a sticky story so it sticks nicely to the net.

It consists of slaked lime and sand. Example of a bagged product:

As mentioned, at least two coats, maybe three. You might build up 5-7 mm per coat, and by looking at the thickness of the old plaster, you'll get a sense of the number of coats needed.

The plaster is very corrosive, so protect eyes and skin (cotton clothing). Wear dry gloves, and if you mess up and get water/wet plaster on your gloves, have dry and clean replacements ready and switch immediately. Otherwise, you'll end up with sore and red skin.
