Hi!
I am going to plaster a room in my basement and I am wondering what type of plaster to use.
The house was built in 1920 and the room has previously been limewashed.
I have scraped off all the lime.
The walls are quite porous (cement with a lot of lime, I presume).
The room will then be used as a laundry room, and 2 of the walls will be tiled.
But the question is which type of plaster should I use?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,

Then you should use a lime-based plaster mortar. A rule is that the plaster mortar should not be "stronger" than the underlying cement material.
You could also plaster/spackle with gypsum mortar, which I have done in a basement laundry room and then laid tiles, but that was on a masonry interior wall.

OK! Thank you for the answer. I'll try with gipsputs. Best regards, Micke
