I am going to expand the bathroom in an old apartment. Unfortunately, the masons were less precise, but that probably didn't matter as much when it was two different rooms.
But now the consequence is that I have a brick wall that is slightly curved, which needs to be completely even so I can put up tiles.
Is there any system with adjustable strips? Unfortunately, I don't have a table saw so I can cut my own of suitable thickness.
Or should I solve it in another way?
I also wonder which mortar I should use, and if mesh is necessary at a thickness of 3-4 cm? How best to attach mesh to brick in that case?

I nailed up battens 22x45 and plastered on, without mesh. Applied a few layers of plaster.
The problem is that in the middle I might need 1 cm of plaster. But on the sides of the wall 3-4 cm. The wall is 2.5 m long in total. So I think that just having strips on the sides isn't enough. The distance is too long to manage to pull the straightedge and get everything right.
I think =)

Depending on how it looks, you should probably place battens at the edges/corners, and then I think about 40-60 cc is appropriate. Build up one section at a time and finish with fine-tuning. I think it will be too difficult to create adjustable battens, now there will be more mortar going out.
If there are easier ways with, for instance, plaster to get it straight, someone else might be able to answer that.

Yes, the wall must be divided in some way anyway. I can't manage to mix and apply all the plaster quickly enough.
But as an amateur, I thought there might be other smarter systems than wooden strips.
By the way, what type of plaster is recommended?

Render and mortar C. I've tried Byggmax brand, which I didn't like at all. Then I tried Finja, which was much better. A third time I tried Bauhaus Probau, which was much cheaper, and I didn't notice any difference between it and Finja. It was nice to have large quantities delivered at home for a few hundred.S stefand said:
