Have received some quotes for plastering my chimney made of mexitegel.

One of the "guys" planned to plaster with gypsum mortar and not use corner protection.

Shouldn't corner protection be used if the chimney is located in a high-traffic area of the house?

He said it was unnecessary because gypsum mortar becomes very hard. It sounds strange to me, but what do you say?

Anyone have any thoughts on corner protection and plaster?

This is what the stock looks like

Is it time?

The bricklayer thinks we should skip corner protectors, but I'm hesitant.

Corner protectors are primarily used when you have a soft substrate, like a plasterboard. Now you have a very hard substrate and will be plastering with hard gypsum. I can't really understand what they would add.

Sounds reasonable, thank you!

How did it go, did you use gipsbruk?

Actually, I don't know what the mason used. I get three diagonal cracks, tiny ones when I burn a bit harder.
