Hello all masonry and plaster experts!
In my house, I have a brick arch, previously covered with mexitegel which I've removed. There are many irregularities in the arch after the bricks that I'm trying to smooth out with plaster mortar. It works perfectly as long as I stick to the vertical parts and a bit up the curve. Then it stops. I can't get the mortar to stick, gravity does its thing and it falls down.
Is there any technique to get the mortar to adhere?
Or do you have other suggestions on how to make it smooth? There are quite large irregularities and holes.
