Hello,

I am eventually planning to build a wooden balcony in an inner corner of the house (about 2 x 3.5 meters), so there will be load-bearing beams on two walls. Under the balcony, there is a wooden terrace on a flat, tightly packed ground (the house was newly built 4 years ago). The question is whether my two planned support posts (made of pressure-treated wood) for the front load-bearing beam need to be fixed in footings, or if it's sufficient to drop them through the wooden deck and let them rest on sturdy concrete slabs with tar paper on top?

NO, it won't work, you should use 70 cm plintar, dig them in properly, bolt them down with a through bolt/rod. 95X95 for the pelare. Despite a small extension, it carries and is exposed to significant forces. Not something to play with exactly.

Ok, thanks!
