Hi,

I'm planning to mount a so-called horizontal plank wall à la New Port. What's best to have behind the planks?
I have my 45 insulation directly behind and to avoid insulation dust, I was thinking about black windproof paper.
(partly for color between the gaps and dust protection)
How have you done it?
While I'm at it, can I ask what gloss you have on the white paint?

Is it outer or inner wall?

Both inner and outer wall.

The outer wall is insulated and has a vapor barrier, but the last 45 isn't insulated.
I will not put a vapor barrier on the inner wall.
What I'm pondering is the insulation. If I nail a wooden wall there,
it will be visible/create some dust behind it.
Therefore, I was considering using black wind paper behind the boards.

Best regards,
Lancer

Have seen walls with black wind barrier behind - really nice! Otherwise, you can use tongue and groove boards, like smooth tongue and groove, or wider pine floorboards. They can usually be found as second sorting reasonably cheaply. Then you don't need anything behind.
