Working on a small and even extension of about 200m2 on our house.

Among other things, we have enclosed the carport and thus moved out the entrance, giving us a larger entrance hall welcomed by a large door + double sidelights. On either side of these sidelights, it's about 1.2m wide and 2.2m high on each side that will frame the upcoming grand ;) entrance...
The wife has had her say, and since we have a door + sidelights in TEAK, she wants teak around the door to brightly mark the entrance (the rest of the house is covered by white mexi-brick/standing white panel).

My question is as follows:
I can't find many places where you can read about someone using TEAK as a facade panel, it's mostly cedar (and maybe primarily red cedar(?)
How does the color variation compare between teak and cedar (can you notice a significant difference?)
Anyone have any experience with this?!?

I know teak is expensive, but if the color difference between cedar & teak is significant, it might feel more justified?!?

Grateful for answers // Calle

I would argue that there is a big difference in color between teak and cedar. The cheapest option is to paint or stain other wood in a teak color. Buying teak today is not easy since there is an import ban within the EU. You'll have to find someone who still has it in stock. What the price is today, I don't know, but probably over 40000 kr/kbm + VAT.

I have an extension in teak and copper from 1963, over the years it has become quite dark, almost black. I can imagine that the old oil is oxidizing.
