Painted plastered wall, dust in the paint..

Hello!

I have skimmed the walls in a smaller room and vacuumed the walls and brushed them off with a brush. I painted once in a slightly dim lighting and didn't think too carefully. Painted again, and now there are a lot of small dust collections that have dried in the paint. I can remove most of them with my nail, but there are a lot.

What should I do?

Would it work to use some relatively fine sandpaper to gently sand them off, dust the wall, and then paint again? What do you think? What grit size should I use?

You can use something like 120 grit paper and then apply again.
But what did you paint with? Washed (with dish soap) quality roller or? It almost sounds like it's a release from the roller because you shouldn't have had that much dust left.

Hi!

Okay, so I shouldn't go less than 120 grain? I washed the roller in soap and water before I started. I've used 2 rollers, first a fine one but I wanted more texture so I used a rough one from Jem o Fix. There has been a bit of hair loss somewhere, but mostly it looks like dust.

Can I use the sandpaper spot by spot, or will it be noticeable when I paint again that it's uneven?

Use a jointed sanding block and go over the entire surface, it won't be visible when you have painted.

Yes, just lightly so you know all the junk is gone.

A tip for the future is to wash the walls after vacuuming. I always wash with a straight floor mop using målartvätt between broad puttying and priming. That way you remove all the dust.
