I have built 4 outdoor stairs from pressure-treated wood, with stringers of 220x45 and the stairs are approximately 1 m wide.

I have installed 45x95 for railings. I was planning to use double 45x95 for the railings but what should I put on top?

...and how closely should I space the posts for the railings? The stairs are approximately 5 meters long at a 35-45 degree incline.

Do you think the supervisor will sack if I use 34x120 and 1.8m between the posts?

A standing 34x120 I think would be just perfect as a handrail; if you lay it down it might be a bit weak with that post spacing.

The posts are 2 x 45x95

And the idea is to place a 34x120 lying on top, the one that you take support from, habdledare (?)

The distance between the poles is 159 cm.

  • Wooden posts spaced 159 cm apart beside outdoor staircase, with green foliage and rocky terrain in the background.
  • Wooden staircase under construction with posts spaced 159 cm apart, surrounded by lush green foliage.
