I'm thinking about making this summer's project a combined fire/grill area.
Something like this:
However, it will be built with brick.
But, I would like to have a chimney on it. You're probably wondering why?
Well, the idea is that I can also burn all the garden waste there, and if you throw leaves, for example, into the fire, they tend to fly away. Flying burning leaves aren't ideal here where we live
That's why I'm thinking a roof with a chimney over the fire area would prevent things from flying away, right?
The problem is, I have no idea how to proceed or even a clue about how this could look. Does anyone here have an idea? Or even understand what I mean?
I don't think that grill area works at all. You sit too close to the grill surface, it gets way too hot. The wind will catch the charcoal bed and sparks will fly around. I wouldn't want to grill in the same place where trash, twigs, and leaves have been burned. Additionally, the grill surface is far too small for that kind of burning. Get a fire barrel for the leaves instead. And if you want to build a similar grill area, make much more space in the circle.
I, who am actually a former nollåtta, am glad that Jonatan79 and Harry73 responded, otherwise I would never have understood the answer from Hemmakatten No, you don't sit on that frame around it, but that's where you place the beer or ketchup while you're grilling The picture was to illustrate the shape of the most Now, I don't think the embers from burnt leaves and branches are bad for grilling sausages over, even if you might have to sponsor with a couple of logs to get a good ember. Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions for such a fire pit but with a chimney.
I misunderstood the function of the grill area, I was a bit confused by the edge around it which I thought was meant to sit on , thanks for pointing it out.
