Those of you who placed chipboard behind the plaster; Which boards did you joint over the studs? Both plaster and chipboard? It should be best to have the plaster jointed over the studs with staggered joints, right?

For example cc600. Use 1200 discs then you will always "hit" a rule. Then shift the last layer of discs 600mm compared to the first layer. Simsalabim.

We are currently looking at different housing companies and one of them, a bit more expensive, has OSB+GYPSUM+INSULATION as standard in the interior walls, while for the other it is an option. Does anyone have an idea of what the extra cost might be that would justify the higher price at company number 1?

We paid 18500 kr extra for insulation of partition walls + extra chipboard in addition to plasterboard in all interior walls. 184 m2, year 2000.

According to my builder, OSB should cost about 50:-/sqm and insulation of interior wall 35:-/sqm wall. They already have plasterboard, so they probably shouldn't charge for that.

We have particle boards everywhere except in areas where we plan to hang a lot or that require extra stability, such as the kitchen, laundry room, etc. There we have OSB. For safety's sake, we have also reinforced a little extra behind the OSB where we will have overhead cabinets, etc.
Another reason to put up some form of board behind the drywall is that the work with drywall and spackling goes faster. I have seen houses without "under boards" that twisted in strong winds and led to cracks.

David
