Question, can you custom order lumber, external paneling, etc., at the large building supply stores/saw mills?
For example, can I order 100 pieces of 45x195 in 2.45m? And only pay for 245 meters, or how does it work?
Also wondering how long of an external panel I can order? I need horizontal paneling and need 6 meters to avoid ugly joints; is it possible to order that long?

When you say 2.45 m, I guess it's for framing walls. For this purpose, there is a so-called "kortregel". Slightly higher meter price than the long lengths. For example, Byggmax has 2.5 m for 34.95 kr/m. The same dimension in falling lengths costs 31.40 kr/m. Sure, you don't completely avoid the saw but the waste is minimal.
The cheapest option is to buy the nearest longer standard length. If you buy custom-made, they start from that and charge for waste and labor. It is not a normal procedure, so it won't be cheap.
Custom ordering has more aspects than just the price. If you don't do the work yourself and have a slow craftsman, it may not be worth it with running lengths.
