I wonder what function it has, is it some type of vapor barrier. I can attach an image if necessary! It is located against the outer walls, it has also been found in the middle of the house from -64. Grateful for an answer!

I don't have aluminum on the drywall but rather on a cardboard sheet (aluminum on one side) just behind the drywall. Not intended as a vapor barrier I think (nothing in the ceiling, for example). I believe it's some idea about heat radiation but I'm not sure.

Definitely puts stud finders out of play anyway!

The colleague has that at home. Zero reception on the mobile, wonderful!

Thanks for the answers, I was also thinking about that thing with heat radiation, but then it should mainly be behind the radiators I think. We haven't experienced any problem with mobile or reception. I would need an answer from someone who definitely knows what it is for and what to replace it with.

Had that throughout my house from -65, the foil against the insulation. No radio in that house....
